    Noteringar:

    Ralph II married Marie Smith. They lived in Arizona, Arkansas, and eventually settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Before they got married, Grandpa was showing off for my grandma in his car, and he lost control on a curve. He spent a year and a half in the hospital, and couldn't walk, but they couldn't find out why not. They finally got an x-ray pointed up from his butt, and found the fracture in his hip, and it was too damaged to repair, so they had to remove four inches of his leg. After he got out of the hospital, they got married. He had to walk on his toe, and even then had a pronounced limp. He learned to make his own shoes, and his right shoe had a normal sized heel, but was built up on the inside with a four-inch hill. When a pair would wear out, he made a new pair, and his old pair became his work shoes. Grandma was pregnant when they married, and they named him Ralph III, but always called him Tex. Tex died as a baby from pneumonia. They had four more kids, Grace, Shirley (my mother), another son named Ralph III, and Dagne.

    His father Jöns Pehrsson Nlsson. My brother Ralph when a little boy at Sain Louis MissoriBorn 18 may 1889 died 24 maj 1964. Sjögren was his stepfather.

    Ralph and Lillian eventually moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they are both buried. They had three children, Ralph II (my grandfather whose nicknames were Bud and Ace), Violet, and Roger (whose nicknames were Toot and Shorty). At one time, Ralph had the largest paint contracting companies in Oklahoma. His sons worked with him. They painted for the wealthy oil barons, and painted many of the large buildings downtown as they were being built. They were the first ones to paint the "Golden Driller", a giant statue that stands in front of our main fairgrounds exposition building. During the oil boom of the 1950s or 1960s, all their families, including Violet's family, drove in four "silver bullet" motorhomes around the country, painting the Phillips 66 gas stations as they were being built. My mom remembers riding in theirs as a child.

    Ralph eventually made his way to the state of Kansas, where he met and married Lillian Hilblom. Lillian was one of 11 or 13 children from Sweden. She emigrated here with her sister, after they drew the two longest straws to see who got to come. Their passage was paid by an American family, and they had to work for them for two years in exchange for bringing them here.
