Tito was a cattle rancher all his life at Nojoqui. In addition to cattle he grew garbanzo and lima beans, barely and tomatoes on dry land. The tomatoes were red, pear shaped that were sent to the cannery. There was never enough water to irrigate all the farm land. The famous Nojoqui Falls was located on a part of his ranch.

Tito and Alma would buy about fifty to one hundred chicks at a time through the Sears catalog. They would raise them and when the rooster were big enough they were killed for the dinner table and the hens were kept to lay the eggs for the family.

Gordevio in Switzerland, which is where the Giorgi family came from, is a small town of less than 500 population.It is located in Valle Maggia. There are very high mountains surrounding Gordevio that are all granite. The favorite flower of the people living in Gordevio is the geranium. Geranium are planted in the ground, in pots and any place they might grow.The buildings are very old and made from granite.

Swiss farmers who emigrated eventually became the backbone of the local dairy bussiness in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara countis. They supplied milk and milk products to San Fransisco and the Sacramento Valley.

In America Natale and Valerie worked in San Jose, Calidornia, moving south to Harmony, Sam Luis Obispo County and then leased land near Los Alamos, California. Natale Giorgi, Sr settledon Rancho Nojoqui in 1896 and Valerio settled in Cayucos. They both accumulated enough money through their hard work to buy daires.
